Welcome to Comp Bio Products Ltd, the home of Compi-Sax. Compi-Sax are the new alternative in 100% compostable, biodegradable and Eco Friendly products. Where possible our products are manufactured in the UK, products range from compostable liners and bags, fair-trade organic cotton shoppers and compostable tableware

After local councils started kerbside collections, it became apparent that there was a need for more affordable alternative to the products currently available for collecting food waste. We decided that we would source an alternative to encourage more people to utilise local authority collections and also to be used for home composting. It took a lot longer than we expected for us to source a suitable alternative to the products that were available on the market. One of our main criteria was that our products should be manufactured in the UK, this means that the carbon footprint is lower for our products. The majority of products on the market are manufactured in Norway, USA or other European countries.

Composting

There are Approximately 2 million ‘Home’ composters in the UK and approx. 20% of local authorities are providing kerbside collection for kitchen waste, the majority of other local authorities are looking into food waste collection as part of the initiatives to reduce the volume of waste going to landfill.

The Environment

Landfill is a ever increasing problem and the government in the UK has set out tough targets for Local Authorities to meet regarding the amount of landfill, these targets are to reduce landfill by 60% by the year 2010. Councils are looking at composting food waste as one of the methods to achieve these targets.
