Fleeces and Pieces is a small company specialising in handmade products made from local, natural and sustainable materials. We create hand knits for adults and children including jumpers, jackets, shrugs, fingerless mitts, scarves and socks. We also make felted products including bags, belts and accessories.

Alpaca is incredibly soft, is hypo-allergenic and is much lighter and warmer than sheep wool due to the hollow fibre. This makes it especially suitable for babies and people who find wool itchy. As with wool we found that we had surplus Alpaca fibre that was not suitable for spinning and so have recently discovered that Alpaca can also be felted so allowing us a new opportunity to combine materials and textures.

Our products need buttons, toggles and buckles. So determined as we were to source natural local and sustainable materials we have been joined by a local wood craftsman who designs for us and makes an ever increasing range of unique accessories made from tree cuttings and off-cuts.

We consider ourselves holistic fabricators which is why you will find things like hanging basket liners and the best ever organic slug repellent on our web-site. We use the whole fleece…enjoy!
